Cartwheels In The Night
If the world around you turns,
Drawing cartwheels in the night.
Cloaking you in emptiness,
While filling you with light.
As the pavement drops away,
And you fall into the stars.
Yet the ground beneath you stays,
Though your heart is circling Mars.
Come away with me tonight,
Leave the pettiness behind.
We make magic in the space that we will find.
Yes, the sky is streaked with red,
And it seeps into your soul.
Lighting fires in the deep,
Burnished copper; glowing gold.
Now forests fill with quiet green,
And wildflowers bloom at night.
Love grows silently unseen,
Shadows shrouded from the light.
Come away with me tonight,
Leave the pettiness behind.
We make magic in the space that we will find.
Come away with me tonight,
Leave the pettiness behind.
We make magic in the space that we will find.
